Earl Grey Paris Shortbread

Ingredients
  • 2 ¼ 2ticks butter
  • 1 ¼ cup confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Earl Grey Paris tea
  • pinch of salt

Glaze Ingredients
  • ¾ cup confectioner’s sugar
  • 2 tablespoon strong brewed Earl Grey Paris Tea
  • Directions:
    1. . Lightly grease a 7” by 10" pan
    2. . Place the tea and butter in a microwaveable bowl and microwave on high for 1 minute
    3. .Stir and microwave for another 30 seconds. Stir . . . Strain out the tea leaves
    4. . Allow the flavored butter to cool
    5. . Preheat oven to 350
    6. . Beat cooled, flavored butter and confectioner’s sugar until light
    7. . Beat in the flour and salt
    8. . Spread the batter evenly in the greased pan
    9. . Bake for about 30-40 minutes or until the shortbread is lightly browned. Remove from oven and allow to cool
    10. . Cut into squares
    11. . Reduce oven to 250. Set the squares on a baking sheet - return to the oven and allow the squares to dry out for about 15 minutes
    12. . Mix together the glaze ingredients and drizzle over the shortbread
