    • 2-2.5 tsp per 8 oz of water, 212°F, 5-6 min
    • This tightly twisted tea is considered one of the finest black teas in the world.
    • Hao Ya refers to the high proportion of downy leaf buds or tips used in the tea.
    • Unlike many black teas which use larger leaf cultivars, Keemun Hao Ya uses a hybrid that produces very small leaves.
    • The slow drying process and light smoking over pine produces a soft and fragrant aroma and a caramelized sweetness in the cup.
    • This tea contains a highly unusual natural component: Myrcene, a natural terpene that provides the tea with a slight note of camphor and smoke.
    • The malty, unsweetened cocoa notes of this tea made it very popular in the West as soon as the Chinese began manufacturing it in the 19th century.
