Fun Fact: Legend goes that US agriculture explorer David Fairchild tried to ship back 1000 mangos. The ship’s captain refused because they were too heavy. Fairchild hired children to eat the fruits so he could bring back the pits. Some of his early mango varieties are still present in South Florida.
