Nepali Masala Chai

Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp strong Nepal Golden Tips Tea
- 4 cups boiling water
- 2 Cups whole milk, heated
- 2/3 Cup brown sugar
- 4 Cloves (crushed)
- 6 Cardamom pods (cracked open) OR 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- Nutmeg (ground) for garnish
- 1 inch piece of finely chopped fresh ginger
- 2 crushed pepper corns
- 1 star anise (optional)
Directions
- . Bring a saucepan with the water to a rolling boil.
- . Remove from heat and add tea, milk, sugar, cloves, cardamom, ginger, pepper corns, and cinnamon stick.
- . Return saucepan to the stove and simmer mixture for 15 minutes allowing flavors to blend.
- .Strain and serve hot with a sprinkle of nutmeg.
- . Enjoy!

When do you add the tea?
