Chilli Chai Fruits and Nuts

Ingredients

  • 4 Tablespoons Chili Chai tea (divided)
  • 4 cups assorted nuts (almonds, pecans, brazil, walnut, almonds, pistachios, etc.)
  • 2 cups assorted dried fruits (cranberries, raisins, apricots, dates, etc.)
  • 4 Tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup honey or ¾ cup brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. . Pre heat oven to 375
  2. . Place the butter and 2 Tablespoons tea leaves in a small saucepan
  3. . Heat gently and allow to steep for 10minutes
  4. . Remove from heat, strain off the tea by pressing the strainer to get the most butter and allow to cool
  5. . Stir the honey or brown sugar into the steeped butter
  6. . Steep the remaining 2 Tablespoons tea in ½ cup boiling water and allow to cool
  7. . Strain off the leaves and sprinkle the infusion evenly over the dried fruits
  8. . Spread the nuts onto a foil or parchment paper lined 10x15 baking sheet
  9. . Pour the tea-butter mixture over and toss to coat evenly
  10. . Bake for about 20 minutes or until the nuts start to toast
  11. . Remove from oven and stir in the tea infused dried fruits
  12. . Allow to cool stirring occasionally to coat the mixture evenly
  13. . Store in an airtight container
