Japanese Green Tea Salad

After you enjoy a delicious cup of high-grade sencha or gyokuro, don't throw those precious tea leaves away after steeping! We recommend our Gyokuro Imperial or Shade Grown Sencha

Instead, prepare those spent leaves into a tasty superfood packed salad to ensure you are getting all those healthy compounds (and the most bang for your buck!)

Ingredients: 

  • 1-2 tbs of spent/brewed Gyokuro or Sencha leaves (make sure they are a quality tea)
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp soy sauce or tamari
  • ¼ tsp sesame oil
  • 1 cup cooked sushi rice or sticky rice
  • seasame seeds

Directions: 

  1. Mix the tea leaves, vinegar, soy sauce/tamari, and sesame oil in a bowl. 
  2. Top your rice with the tea leaf salad and dressing mixture.
  3. Garnish with sesame seeds.
