Sourced from the highest peak in Xishuangbanna, perpetually veiled in clouds and mist, this distinguished pu'er reflects the character of its origin. Smooth and  balanced profile of sweet almond and rich cacao. Its lingering finish reveals the familiar depth and earthy resonance prized in fine Yunnan shu pu'er.

Tea Type or Tisane | Flavors: Shu Pu'er| almond tart, dark chocolate, herbs, silky

Tea Tips: Delightful to enjoy now alongside delicate pastries, this tea also possesses the structure and complexity to reward further maturation.

Ingredients: Huazhuliangzi Mountain, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province, China.  Pu'er tea: 100%

How to Steep: Eastern: 1 gram per 30 ml water, 212 F; give a quick rinse, then begin with a 15-second steep for first two brews; increase by 10-20 seconds each subsequent infusion. Western: 2 grams per 6-8 oz. water, 212 F, 3-4 minutes

Fun Fact #1: Perched beside Nannuo Mountain, Huazhuliangzi rises to 2,430 meters, making it the highest peak in Xishuangbanna. The remarkable terroir combines alpine elevation with a misty subtropical climate, creating ideal conditions for exceptional tea cultivation.

Fun Fact #2: Shu Pu'er, unlike Sheng (aged slowly over time), is aged quickly (usually a few months) in an indoor, temperature and humidity-controlled environment. This results in a fully-fermented tea which has very smooth, full-bodied, sometimes with nutty, cocoa, smoky, woody, or fruity notes. While Shu Pu'er will never have the complexity of a well-aged Sheng, if processed correctly, it will have a smoothness and full-bodied nature which many find satisfying, and the full fermentation is great for your gut health! Try drinking some Shu Pu'er to calm indigestion after a greasy meal! Many also drink Shu Pu'er to help them lower their cholesterol!

Fun Fact #3: Unlike most other teas, quality Shu and Sheng Pu'er are made with leaves from tea trees, not shrubs. Many of these trees are hundreds of years old! The leaves are from a big-leaf variety (dayezhong), and get nourishment from larger roots than from shrub plants, resulting in a more complex flavor!
