Grown in a bamboo forest, Guzhu Zisun is one of the oldest tribute teas dating back to the Tang Dynasty. This green tea grown in Zhejiang reflects the best of China's tea history and culture with a floral-sweet flavor and buttery-smooth finish.

Tea Type or Tisane | Flavors: Green | floral, sweet, buttery, bamboo, vegetal

Ingredients: China, Guzhu Mountain, Changxing County, Zhejiang, 100% green tea

Cultivar: Lao Cha Shu Quntizhong

How to steep: Eastern: 1 gram per 30 ml, 170-175 F; no rinse, 30 second steep; increase time with each steep. Western: 2 grams per 6-8 ounces, 170-175 F, 2-3 minutes

Fun Fact #1: This tea is harvested later in the season than most high-quality green teas like Dragonwell.

Fun Fact #2: The plucking standard is one bud and two leaves and is processed entirely by hand giving the tea the delicate nature of China's finest quality.

Fun Fact #3: Guzhu Zisun gets its Purple Bamboo Shoot name due to the purple coloration of the buds just before harvest. This represents a greater concentration of anthocyanins in the leaf.

Fun Fact #4: Guzhu Zisun is grown using natural methods rather than reliance on pesticides due to the wild grown bamboo trees providing an organic fertilizer and birds of prey helping maintain the insect population.
