Fun Fact #1: Dan Con tea is made from leaves propagated from cuttings over the centuries to produce unique fragrances. Mi lan xian ("honey orchid fragrance") is the most popular one, but there are many others. Dan cong means "single tree" and implies that all of the leaves used to make the tea come from the same tea tree. Due to expense, this is usually not the case; instead, multiple trees with the same fragrance are combined.
Fun Fact #2: This tea comes from a foggy and mountainous region of Guangdong Province. The tea plants are allowed to grow into 10-12 ft. tall trees.
