The Cultured Cup chosen as consultants for Frito Lay

Frito Lay has begun development on some tea-related snacks, and sought the expertise of The Cultured Cup to create effective pairings for these snacks. They recently used a concentrate from our Marco Polo tea at a large meeting, and the tea was the only item for which the CEO requested seconds!

Hot Tea at the Dallas Museum of Art!

The Cultured Cup is proud to announce the beginning of hot tea service at the Dallas Museum of Art’s Seventeen Seventeen Restaurant. Thanks to our relationship with Sodexo and Stephan Pyles, we were privileged to meet Chef Jason Ferraro and develop a unique and cutting-edge tea program to begin in conjunction with the Dallas Museum of Art’s anticipated Tutankhamen exhibition. After your tour of the Tut exhibit, be sure to stop by Seventeen Seventeen Restaurant for a wonderful lunch and tea from The Cultured Cup.

And please stop by the restaurant every third Friday evening for Late Nights at The DMA, where Kyle will give presentations about tea from around the world paired with Chef Jason's worldly cuisine!

Best Fancy Teas

The Cultured Cup was recently featured in The Dallas Observer's Best of Dallas issue:

"We know folks around here prefer their tea heavily sweetened and over ice. And we will never refuse a tall glass of sweet tea on a muggy summer day. But at home, away from judgmental Texas eyes, we love to fill our Bodum tea press with a delicious hot tea—one of our favorites is Thé Rouge au Sahara from Mariage Frères, a rooibos-based herbal blend with mint and rose petals. Yes, we are fancy. And fortunately, The Cultured Cup has a wide selection of Mariage Frères teas to satisfy all our snooty desires. Not sure what kind of tea you like? They are glad to make suggestions, and the tea "bar" offers gotta-have-it-now tasting opportunities. To indulge your sweet tooth, Cultured Cup offers fresh Belgian candies from Leonidas (we love the fruit-shaped "jellies") and drinking chocolate fit for a queen (seriously)."

The Cultured Cup in Modern Luxury Dallas

Modern Luxury Dallas swung by The Cup to take a few pictures for an article about some of the finer restaurant tea programs in The French Room, Screen Door, and our very own tea appearing in Seventeen Seventeen Restaurant:

"Chef Jason Ferraro consults with [Kyle] Stewart much as he would with a sommelier. During the...Tutankhamun exhibit, for example, many of the dishes will reflect North African influences, and service will include suggested tea pairings. 'They will be pairing tea with dishes, like wine,' says Stewart,...adding the concept 'goes way beyond what the British tea ceremony is all about.'

The tea bar will be like an open kitchen where tea is brewed to order. That doesn't exclude iced tea, however...He and chef Ferraro collaborated to find the perfect tea to serve iced. They settled on a full-bodied black tea with assertive flavors of Mediterranean fruit and marigold flower that come across as a 'velvety taste' (Bolero).
